20-25 mph Kansas Crosswinds
Just spoke to Byron and he reports Mike is up and riding well again. He took a 45 minute break to eat, nap and shower in Pratt. They let him rest in an air conditioned room which was very refreshing. The shower and rest did him well and he’s continuing to ride strong. No problems except for the 20-25 mph winds coming out of the south which are pretty typical in the plains states.

Unfortunately, RAAM has taken the life of Bob Breedlove. RIP :(

I had heard this earlier but wanted to wait for RAAM to make the official announcement. It's a sad day for all cycling.
RAMM didn't take Bob Breedlove's life. Fatigue, his competitive spirit, and a moment of inattention at the worst possible time is what cost Bob his life.
Current analysis of Robic's last split supports a finish time of 8days 21 hours.
This forecast assumes Robic rides at the identical pace that he finished with last year.
Don't give Robic the luxury of thinking he can relax. Keep Mike's head in the race by creating short-term goals that support a sub 9 day finish, (at least for now)
Quit, refrring to splits against Robic, if you could, I enforce, rider info "blackout" on Mike, all the way across Missouri.
Time and the course conditions are your enemies, not Robic. Ride your pace, ride the course correctly, and you will force Robic into mistake-free riding.
Four more days of riding, that's alot of time to make mistakes!
