Heating up outside Fort Scott -- winds starting to help

Mike still looks strong despite rising temps. Attached photos gives a little sense of the day. Winds are helping for a change. Keep the comments coming. They REALLY help. Image on the left shows Mike taking a small break while trying to get something out of one of his eyes.

More a little later.

Okay Mike, I just got done pricing flights to get me to the Missippi crossing before you and holy crud...
But I told you I wanted to see you out there so that I could blow my party whistle, you know, those funny little paper things that uncurl when you blow! They are so silly that they are awesome!
SO, when you get to the Missippi and all those folks are out there cheering for you, if you don't see me, know that I am there in spirit...throwing confetti and blowing my party whistle!!!!!!
Onward - you rock!

I wish I could sing this Andy Gibb song to you that I'm listening to right now. But since I'm not there, your crew will need to sing it..."TAKE IT FROM ME IF YOU GIVE A LITTLE MORE THAN YOU'RE ASKING FOR YOUR LOVE WILL TURN THE KEY...I, I JUST WANT TO BE YOUR EVERYTHING!" Ok, I hope they're singing was amusing and short-lived for your benefit! KEEP PEDALING! More tunes later! :)

At the risk of over-commenting, I'm going to throw in my 2 cents again today! So happy to hear you have a tail wind... Your fan base here at HP: Colorado Springs is growing by the day because I can't contain my excitement for you and apparently it's contagious! More good vibes heading your way to help push you through MO. ZOOOOOM!

Hi Mike,

Yes, your fan base is growing from Galveston to Vermont. Somebody once said, " Nothing great is ever accomplished without enthusiasm. " Your zeal IS contagious. Did your Dad ever tell you about the time he peddaled full speed into a parked car ?

Love,
Lyndah W.T.

Mike and Crew: I am with you in spirit and sending positive thoughts your way. Unfortunately, my family reunion is in the southern part of Missouri and I will not be near the race route as you go through. Thanks for all the inspiration!!! John Zlatic

Mike, I too am on the road again...but in my car! I need to train in CO for my next race. And I just want to remind you that my past few years of racing is very much your fault!! (okay, inspiration) You are such a powerful being and have amazing energy and drive that motivates us all to reach harder for our dreams and goals. I believe that all of us cheering you on can THANK YOU for that contribution which you have made to our lives. Last year after this journey I tried to get a girlfriend of mine to join me as a team at RAAM for '06! I can only imagine how inspired I'll be when you get off your bike in AC this year...YIKES!!!!
Meanwhile, enjoy this place in your life, in your mind, in your body, and in your soul. Self-discovery is nothing shy of fabulous.
Cheers to you all!!!!!!
