No major news ... crew doing an outstanding job
I’ve called the phones a couple times and it seems the crew is out of cell phone range again tonight so we’ll probably wait to update again in the morning. Looks like status quo for the moment. Mike’s holding onto second with Baloh within an hour. Robic’s still out there setting a blistering pace. You’d have to believe he’s gonna have to slow down.
For those that admire Mike’s will and determination, please remember that he could never do this without the tireless support of his crew. Even though they’re not riding their bikes, it’s still incredibly difficult to drive across the country at 15 mph and operate on limited sleep. A big thank you to all the guys in big van and little van. They’re the ones keeping Mike safe and properly fueled for this epic ride. There’s a post yesterday with a little info on each of the Team Trevino crew members.
Until mañana.

No kidding the crew - the crew can make or break a race.
A gentle reminder from a know-it-all. All crew members - keep an even temperment in front of Mike.
Never show your own fatigue, never yawn in front of Mike. Never, feigh, false encouragement.
Keep your dealings with Mike, business like. Do NOT lose focus.
Never repeat, any negativity Mike make bring up, always change the subject and return Mike's focus to the clock.
Time to create, "clock" based race goals, leave Robic out of it for now.

A friend.......

Hey Jim,
It's Aunt Lyndah again, can't focus on anything but Mike's big ride. Wake up, check the race water the plants, check the race, feed the cats, check the race, feed my husband, check the race, make some kool-aid, check the race, pour some kool-aid, check the race, ad infinitum. ( You were right about the tilde in mañana. I live here, barely manage the language, and this is the Land of Mañana !) We apprciate the importance of team work and friendship. Ya'll are doing a great job, that is why Mike is as successful as he is in this race. All the training and mental exercises are for naught if the logistics lack. Keep up the good work . Every Trevino in the clan is watching this race and, though many have been successful in this way or that,... we're like weenies when it comes to Mike. He is a true and pure ultra-athlete, he is a champion.
What is all this garbage about Katherine and Maria ? It may be an inside joke, but alot of us are not laughing. Their grandparents would consider it scandal. And Michael Jackson ?... leave him to Jay Leno.
We look forward to any developments or news - avidily! anything! Keep us posted.
God bless all of you, even if you are agnostic; it's one Lotto game you can win ~ even if ya don't play.
A friend you haven't met yet,
Mike's Aunt Lyndah
Please tell Mike I am thinking of him.
I am sending some homemade beef jerky down your way with Steve Kersten tomorrow.
Tito Trevino
Mike,
I echo everyone's comments about being obsessed with your progress. Keep up the great work!
Hats off to the crew!
Still sending positive energy your way,
Stacey Carr and Dave Sick
Greetings to all- from Fort Dodge.
Some chocolate chip cookies are headed your way, along with some other goodies, I hope the crew enjoys.....and maybe Mike as well.
Thanks for all your hard work, and for taking care of Mike.
Mike's Mom
Best wishes for Trevino but Robic is still unstopable. The only question her is, will Robic beat his last year record!
Greetings from the other side of the ocean - Slovenia!
Like you guys we're cheering for our Jure over here but without a doubt they're both champions! Let the best win!
Till then good luck to the Trevino team also!
Maja from Slovenia
Mike:
You are looking good...in great position to close on Robic and pass him. Your crew is awesome. Stay on plan and wait for Robic to break. He can't sustain his current pace and will soon burn out. Keep on cranking and recognize that there are hundreds of supporters and fans out here pulling for you. You are the best....and will soon prove it to the rest of the ultracycling world. Thanks to your crew for helping you excel in this challenging journey.
Best wishes,
Larry G.
