Pictures from the Halfway point


Attached are photographs taken a few moments ago, 9:55 pm EST, at exactly the halfway point of the race. The temperature has cooled considerably, the winds are dying down, and Mike is settling in for a solid night of riding. Spirits are high! Unfortunately, still no laptop so these cell phone images are the best we can provide.

Mike...greeetings from the Great White North....this afternoon I read about the tragic accident just after it happened.....these next few hours will be tough to stay focused with a tragedy on the same road but you have trained hard and have a job to do. You have our support and encouragement. You will have a great second half of the race after being very smart in the first half.....your friends in the Great White North are cheering from you even in the middle of the night (hey, it is still light here in the middle of the night, so we do not sleep in the summer)......keep the faith.....Greg White, Vancouver, Canada.....home of the 2010 Olympics....
